Big Brother 8, Day 40 - Suspicious minds

Pauline_big_brother

Carole thinks she's already got Fake Housemate Pauline rumbled. Displaying more spooky insight than Pauline herself (who's supposed to have special psychic powers, remember. A bit like the twins.) Carole explains to Tracey about how Pauline could easily be an actress. "Laura could just have been sitting in some studio - just like Pauline" says Carole. Spot on, Carole, amazing! Then again, Carole has been suspicious of Pauline since before she arrived, so maybe Carole's just the suspicious kind. So, not so amazing after all, then.

So far, Thaila seems to be making rather heavy work of her role as "Pauline". The accent keeps slipping, she knows nothing about Big Brother Australia (which is a shame, because Ryan has been watching it avidly), and people keep asking her questions which she has no idea how to answer. Of course, Big Brother isn't helping much by requiring her to pretend to have psychic powers, correctly guessing that Charley is a little on the argumentative side, from just one glance at her half-eaten hamburger. Even Charley seems to have seen through that one, and given that Charley doesn't normally see further than the nearest mirror, that's saying a lot.

Big Brother 8, Day 33: Seven deadly sins

Big_brother_amanda

You know, it occurs to me that Charley could really have been all of the seven deadly sins, couldn't she? Other than gluttony, obviously. Because Charley never eats, being a size zero and the skinniest one in the house, see? She should definitely have been pride, but, as it is, that honour falls to Amanda, who is forced to dress up as a hotdog. Luckily, Amanda makes a nice hotdog, and accepts her "penance" with her usual giggly good grace. Charley? Not so much, really. Her penance involves not shouting or swearing, and given that Charley only has two speeds - "Shout" and "Swear" - that was never really going to happen, was it?

Week 4 nominations: Carole, Billi and Tracey up for eviction

Bigbrothernominations

It's been another suspense-free week for nominations and, surprise surprise, it's Carole, Billi and Tracey who are up for the chop. My money's on Billi, who will surely win the highest percentage of the vote. This will, as usual, be a shame, because his role in the Chiggy love triangle is one of the most entertaining parts of the show. No, as sure as I am that Billi is currently living on borrowed time, I'd much rather see Carole or Tracey beat him to the door. Either one will suit me fine, although, now I come to think of it, having to sit through a Davina/Tracey interview consisting solely of the phrases "Av it!" and "Phat!" might be more than I can handle right about now.

So, tell me: who do you want to see go?

Nominations: Carole, Seany and Jonathan up for eviction

Bigbrother8nominations

So, the nominations are in, and it's Jonathan, Carole and Seany facing the public vote this week. At the moment, I think it's too close to call: the public will have reasons to vote out all three, and I'm not quite sure which way they'll choose to jump (which is why there'll be an eviction poll going up in our sidebar in the next few minutes - don't forget to cast your votes).

For myself...

Jonathan I quite like so far. I think he has good potential to stir things up a bit and I'm not sure I buy Nicky's "Jonathan is totally perving on me" accusations. Quite a serious allegation to make, really, so I hope she'll be able to back it up...

Carole I like too. Poor Carole: nominated largely on the strength of her habit of tidying up after everyone else's lazy asses, and looking after them with food. Carole does have a nice, completely batty side to her, though, which saw her stand up to The Moany One  and send her to Coventry. For this reason alone, Carole should stay.

Which leaves us with Seany. Seany is,  quite clearly,  a  bit of an ass. His "hilarious"  pranks  sent Lesley  weeping and  a-wailing out the house, and  sent Charley into the stratosphere with rage. There's not a whole lot about him that's endearing, is there. What really turned me against Seany, though, was his behaviour on Friday night, when the new house mates came into the house. "A gay guy, a gay guy!" screeched Seany delightedly when he saw heterosexual Billi walk through the door. And then, "an old guy! An old guy!" he shrieked upon the appearance of Jonathan. I was just waiting for his shouts of "A black guy! A black guy!" and "A slow guy! A slow guy!" when Brian and Liam walked in, but Seany managed to zip it. For once.

Despite not liking Seany as a person, though, I think I'd quite like to keep him in, just to see how much more trouble he can go. Which leaves me with a dilemma. Who goes? You decide...

Carole, Tracey and Nicky threaten to walk out of Big Brother

Carole_big_brother_8

So, rumour has it that Big Brother is considering camcelling tomorrow night's eviction amid fears that Carole, Nicky and Tracey are all getting ready to walk. Is just me, or is anyone else starting to wish that ALL the housemates would walk, so that we could maybe start again, with a houseful of people who don't all talk at the same time and throw hissyfits every few minutes?

Can you guess what the house mates have all been arguing about today that's prompted this state of affairs, though? Go on, try to guess! I bet you never will! Oh, all right, you will then: it's food. Again. Apparently a fight broke out this afternoon (it would be more unusual if peace broke out, wouldn't it?) and all three women have now said they want to quit. It doesn't look like Carole and Tracey can count on tomorrow night's eviction to help them get the hell out of Dodge either: according to our poll, Shabnam is currently favourite to go, with 66.7% of the vote.

Week 2 nominations: Carole, Tracey and Shabnam up for eviction

Bigbrothernominations

Only Gerry, Seany, Sam and Amanda were allowed to nominate this week, and they used their votes well, putting up 'Havin' it' Tracey, Crying Carole and Batshit Crazy Shabs for eviction. Nominations were as follows:

Amanda nominated Carole and Nicky, complaining that Carole  calls house meetings and then instantly stalks out of them, in tears, while Nicky has been complaining about the twins lack of cleaning skills. She then broke her bracelet and all thoughts of nominations went straight out of her pretty little head.

Gerry nominated Shabnam and Tracey. Shabnam is "constantly posing" (NO!) and Tracey has a very limited vocubulary. Gerry's nominations were actually the most interesting, I thought, and he got Tracey spot on, pointing out that it's hard to get to know someone who only has about five stock phrases which they use in constant rotation...

Sam nominated Shabnam and Carole, saying that Shabnam sings "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" too much and doesn't do her share of the chores. In Carole's case, Sam agreed with her sister, citing Carole's failure to listen during the house meetings.

Finally, Seany nominated Tracey (who "doesn't take part in all the fun") and Shabnam, for reeasons that completely escape me at the moment. Strangely, though, the Channel 4 website inititally reported Seany's second nomination as being for Gerry, who he apparently said interrupted him too much. Seany was later heard complaining that some of his nominations weren't accepted by Big Brother - eiether way, Shabnam would still have been up.

Contestant # 11: Carole

Bigbrothercarole Another oldie, then. Unusual. Carole is an activist for... well, everything, really. She's gonna "Shake it something rotten" and is totally up for an argument. (The ones who say that in their audition tapes never are, though. Shame.)

She's been cautioned a few times for her demonstrations, and is proud of this. She loves gigs - I wonder if she's heard any of that new Indie music that's going around?

Carole is the token bisexual member of the house. So far.
